About Me

Backend-focused full-stack engineer building systems that hold under pressure — from API architecture to real-time applications.

My Story

Alongside my journey into software engineering, I spent two years as a Master Control Room Operator at a broadcast news agency — managing live transmission across multiple platforms under a zero-interruption mandate. When a signal fails on air, there's no rollback, no hotfix, no "we'll address it in the next sprint." That environment doesn't teach you to be careful. It teaches you to get it right the first time.

I built on that discipline through ALX Africa's Software Engineering program, where I specialized in backend systems, API architecture, and production infrastructure. Since then I've shipped a fintech SaaS from MVP to production, executed a zero-downtime migration of a live platform using the Strangler Fig pattern, and built real-time systems used by actual users — not just portfolio demos. Across all of this, my approach has been consistent: own the problem end-to-end — from data modeling to deployment.

I'm a backend-first engineer who can take a feature from database schema to working UI without losing context at the seams. I'm particularly drawn to problems where reliability isn't optional — fintech, real-time systems, platforms where downtime has a cost. If you're building something that needs to work under pressure, that's where I do my best work.
